ANNA HOLTBLAD STORE
Our aim with the Anna Holtblad store was to
create a timeless environment with a twist that reflects the thinking behind
Anna's clothing. The store uses key elements of Scandinavian design, whilst
international references slowly reveal themselves to the visitor as they move
within the space.
I wanted to play with contrasts to make a warm and inviting space. Natural materials such as slate, plaster and oak form a ‘classic' architectural language whilst contemporary details such as the high-tech lighting and a wooden floor mounted on the ceiling add a little element of surprise. At a distance, the furniture appears to be more at home in a farmer's barn, but a closer look shows that the craftsmanship is quite sophisticated.
The store was designed in 1998 and is still one of my personal favorites.
